Responsibilities
Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, ensuring precision and efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, maintaining a sterile environment through strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment, including 3D scanners, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, documenting treatment details and medical histories thoroughly. Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and guiding patients through their visit process. Support pediatric dentistry patients by understanding their unique needs and assisting with age-appropriate communication and care. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor medical documentation to ensure comprehensive patient care during each visit.

Requirements
Previous experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is essential for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is crucial for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Certification in X-ray technology and familiarity with medical coding practices are required to support accurate billing and compliance standards. Strong understanding of dental procedures across specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics will enhance your ability to assist effectively. Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work in four-handed dentistry setups will ensure seamless team collaboration.
