Duties

• Assist orthodontists during various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency.
• Prepare treatment areas by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including panoramic and 3D scans, while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines.
• Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric dentistry when applicable.
• Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to orthodontics and general dentistry.
• Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety protocols for both patients and staff.
