As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you will be focused on patient care and building relationships. You will be representative of our Core Values to our Team Members and our Patients. Orthodontic Assistant job description & duties include (but not limited to):
- Communication with patients regarding treatment and oral hygiene
- Charting of patient information
- Taking digital radiographs
- Taking alginate impressions
- Performing orthodontic adjustments
- Preparing teeth for bonding and debonding
- Assisting in the placement and removal of appliances
- Sterilizing instruments and operatories
- Encouraging, educating, and motivating patients to follow the recommendations of the Doctor
- Fixed retainer fabrication and cementation
- Bracket set-up/placement
- Inventory control
- Managing a fast-paced patient schedule
Qualifications:
- 1 year ortho experience
- experience using ortho edge
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, terminology, and instruments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Passionate about working with kids and families
- Desire to be part of a team and build relationships
- Fast learner and ability to retain knowledge of new concepts
- Demonstrates knowledge of dental terminology
- Ability to handle all patient information in compliance with HIPAA privacy and security regulations
- Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Docs, and other messaging systems
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with parents, children, and co-workers
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Occasional standing and bending are required
- Regular computer usage

- General dental office environment.
