Orthodontic Dental Assistant Trainee (Entry-Level, Chinese Speaking Preferred)

Fast-paced orthodontic office hiring a Clinical Assistant Trainee for both our Manhattan (Chinatown) and Flushing (Queens) locations.

This position begins with hands-on training in our lab and sterilization area, followed by progression into full clinical assisting.

Weekend availability is required.

This role is best suited for individuals who are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an efficient clinical environment.

Training & Growth Path

All new team members begin with training in our sterilization and lab area to build a strong foundation in infection control, instrument management, and clinical workflow.

From there, you will progress into hands-on clinical assisting, including chairside orthodontic procedures, digital scanning, and patient care.

This is a structured training path designed for long-term growth in orthodontics.

What We’re Looking For

• Able to work at both Manhattan and Flushing locations
• Weekend availability required
• Prior dental or orthodontic experience preferred (not required)
• Friendly, proactive, and strong communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to learn sterilization, lab workflow, and clinical assisting as part of a structured training process
• Former MBO patient is a plus

What You’ll Do

• Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure proper instrument workflow
• Assist with lab tasks including model preparation, 3D printing, and digital workflow support
• Welcome and seat patients for orthodontic appointments
• Assist orthodontists with braces and clear aligner procedures (four-handed dentistry)
• Record and transcribe clinical notes
• Communicate treatment details with patients and parents
• Take diagnostic records: x-rays, intraoral scans, and photos
