Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with a background in orthopedic medicine who is comfortable working in both front and back office settings. This position does not require on-call or weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support to the physician and physician assistant
• Assist with orthopedic procedures, including:
• Bracing, splinting, and casting
• Blood draws and injection setup
• Suture removal and dressing changes
• Ultrasound and other procedure preparation
• Support charting and EMR documentation
• Handle administrative duties, including:
• Scheduling appointments
• Patient communication
• Insurance verification and authorizations
• Managing inbox messages
• Collecting payments
• Float between clinical and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant or Orthopedic Technician program preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Ability to cast, splint, and brace with a high level of independence
• Experience obtaining insurance authorizations
• Workers’ Compensation experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
