Position Summary

The Orthopedic Physician will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. This role will be responsible for both surgical and non-surgical patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with orthopedic conditions, injuries, and diseases.
  • Perform surgical and non-surgical interventions as appropriate.
  • Provide consultation services to patients, families, and referring providers.
  • Collaborate with physician assistants, nurses, physical therapists, and other members of the care team.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in call coverage rotation, departmental meetings, and hospital committees as needed.
  • Stay current with advances in orthopedic medicine and implement evidence-based practices.

Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Alaska.
  • Strong surgical skills, clinical judgment, and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and staff.

Preferred Experience
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., sports medicine, spine, joint replacement, hand, trauma) highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a hospital or multi-specialty group practice setting.
