Orthopedic Physician – Spine / Shoulder / Sports Medicine

Job Summary:
Royal Bahrain Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Orthopedic Physician specializing in Spine, Shoulder, or Sports Medicine to join our Orthopedic Department. The physician will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing musculoskeletal disorders using both conservative and surgical approaches, providing high-quality patient care aligned with international medical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions involving spine, shoulder, and sports injuries
- Perform orthopedic surgical procedures relevant to specialty (if surgical specialist/consultant)
- Conduct outpatient consultations and inpatient management
- Manage trauma and emergency orthopedic cases when required
- Develop treatment plans including surgical and non-surgical management
- Provide post-operative care and rehabilitation guidance
- Maintain accurate medical documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams
Minimum Qualifications:
- MBBS / MD degree from recognized medical institution
- Specialty qualification in Orthopedic Surgery such as:
- Arab Board of Orthopedics
- European Board
- UK CCT / FRCS (Orthopedics)
- American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
- Equivalent recognized qualification
- Fellowship or subspecialty training in one of the following:
- Spine Surgery
- Shoulder Surgery
- Sports Medicine
- Eligible for or holding NHRA license (National Health Regulatory Authority – Bahrain)
Experience Requirements: Specialist:
- Minimum 3–5 years post-specialty experience
Consultant:
- Minimum 5–8+ years post-specialty experience
- Proven surgical experience in spine, shoulder, or sports medicine preferred
Skills Required:
- Expertise in orthopedic diagnosis and treatment
- Strong surgical skills (for surgical roles)
- Excellent clinical judgment
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to quality and safety standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fellowship in Spine Surgery, Shoulder Surgery, or Sports Medicine
- Experience in arthroscopic surgery
- Experience in minimally invasive orthopedic procedures
- Experience in tertiary or private hospital setting
