If you love making things with your hands, we'd love to talk to you. No orthotics or prosthetics experience required — we train.
Fabtech Systems manufactures custom orthotic and prosthetic devices — braces and prosthetic limbs — that we ship to clinicians and patients across the country and around the world. Every device is built for one specific person, so no two are alike. We're growing, and we're adding skilled technicians to our Everett, WA team.
You don't need experience in our field. We've learned over the years that the best technicians are the ones who show up, pay attention, work carefully with their hands, and take pride in what they make. We can teach the rest.
What the work looks like
You'll shape, laminate, grind, form, finish, and fit custom medical devices made from carbon fiber, thermoplastics, and composites. You'll work from a clinician's prescription and a digital scan or model of a patient's limb — so there's a real technical and CAD/CNC side to the work, not just repetition. Each device you finish goes to someone who will rely on it every day.
The skills transfer from a lot of places: auto body and paint, cabinetry and woodworking, fiberglass boat work, custom fabrication, sign making, or any craft where you've made something by hand that another person counted on.
The offer
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00. No weekends in normal operations. No on-call.
Pay: $21–$24/hour, depending on experience.
Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays.
A real manufacturing shop run on lean principles — we focus on continuous improvement and getting a little better every day. All safety equipment provided.
Hands-on training in materials, tools, and techniques you won't learn anywhere else — and a clear path to grow from entry level to senior technician as we expand.
What we're looking for
Strong hand skills and an eye for detail — you take pride in doing things right.
Reliability. You show up, on time, ready to work.
Willingness to ask questions and learn from technicians who've done this for decades.
High school diploma or GED, the ability to read and write in English, and basic computer skills.
Comfort with active, hands-on work — standing, using hand tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Nice to have (but not required)
Experience in orthotics, prosthetics, or medical device fabrication.
Experience with carbon fiber, fiberglass, or composites.
CAD/CAM or CNC experience.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S.
A background in a hands-on trade: auto body, woodworking, boat building, machining, or welding.
About us
We're one of the country's leading custom composites central fabrication operations, with our main facility in Washington, serving clinicians and patients nationwide and internationally. Our Everett shop is a big part of that, and it's growing. We run lean and we're always working to improve how we build. The team is small enough that everyone knows each other and large enough that there's real room to advance. The work is skilled, rewarding, and meaningful — at the end of every device is a person whose day is better because of what you built. If that sounds like your kind of work, apply. We read every application.
Work environment and physical requirements
This is an active, hands-on role on a working manufacturing floor. Fabrication work is hands-on and can get messy — we run lean and focus on continuous improvement to keep the shop organized, safe, and always getting better. You'll be on your feet for much of the day, use hand and power tools such as grinders and band saws, and lift up to 50 pounds. The shop has typical light-manufacturing noise levels and some airborne particles from finishing work. Fabtech provides all required safety equipment — safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, and gloves — along with full training on how to use it.
Fabtech Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
