OT SCRUB NURSE

• The OT Scrub Nurse is responsible for preparing the operating room before surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and readily available
• During procedures, the nurse assists the surgical team by handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members as needed, maintaining a sterile field throughout the operation
• They play a crucial role in patient care, ensuring the patient is positioned correctly on the operating table, monitoring vital signs, and addressing any immediate needs or concerns
• OT Scrub Nurses accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including the instruments used, any specimens collected, and the patient's condition throughout the surgery
• It's imperative for them to adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines to minimize the risk of surgical site infections and ensure the well
• being of patients and staff
• They collaborate closely with the rest of the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to maintain efficiency and ensure the smooth progression of the operation
• After surgery, the OT Scrub Nurse assists in transferring the patient to the recovery area, cleans and restocks the operating room, and participates in debriefings to discuss any issues or improvements for future procedures
