Western Transport, Inc. is a locally owned and operated, refrigerated, trucking company located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. We have been in the Over the Road (OTR) trucking business since 1963. We are currently seeking someone who wants a career in supply chain and logistics as an OTR Dispatcher. The ideal candidate will be a strong and confident communicator. They will have critical, problem-solving skills and be a proven leader. They will have the ability to handle multiple trucks, drivers, and tasks. They must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with a multitude of individuals. Western Transport, Inc. is a drug free work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Build relationships with drivers; provide them all information on their current and future loads, trailer assignments, any special instructions on the load, and routing details

· Plan, dispatch, and monitor all activities associated with assigned drivers to ensure all customer expectations are met or exceeded

· Effectively communicate with the dispatch and management team while tracking customer shipments

· Monitor driver's Hours of Service availability and ensure driver is compliant with DOT regulations and company guidelines

• Maintain a high level of customer service with customers, drivers, and co-workers
• Demonstrate effective, critical, problem solving and relationship building skills
• Provide accurate customer quotes, both spot and contract pricing
• Customer on-boarding documentation and process
• Actively prospect, cold-call, B2B sales solicitations, and load booking
• Negotiate and collaborate with customers daily
• Provide world-class, value-added customer service

Daily Responsibilities:

• Manage and coach drivers and ensure their career success
• Facilitate the pick up and delivery of loads in a timely manner
• Expert knowledge in DOT Hours of Service, safety, and compliance
• Plan pick-up and delivery of products by providing detailed direction

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years relevant OTR refrigerated dispatch experience preferred
• Functional knowledge of industry systems, including Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, CRMs, TMS, all load boards, etc.
• Effective communicator, comfortable with interacting with a multitude of different personalities and job functions both verbally and in writing
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high stress environment
• Capable of multi-tasking while being very detail oriented

Job Type: Full-time, Salary
Schedule: Day Shift with on-call nights and weekend rotation
This is not a work from home position; must be able to work on-site

Education
