OTR Transportation Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate OTR freight transportation activities, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety standards.
• Communicate with customers to ensure on time pick up and delivery.
• Utilize transportation management system plan routes, monitor shipments, and optimize fleet utilization.
• Oversee dispatching operations, assigning loads to drivers based on GPS data, GIS mapping, and real-time traffic updates.
• Manage shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, data entry into TMS system, and tracking shipments via GPS.
• Communicate effectively with drivers using multi-line phone systems and maintain professional phone etiquette to address inquiries or resolve issues promptly.
• Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot delays, and implement improvements for supply chain flow.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) standards, and company policies related to fleet management and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, incident reports, shipping documentation, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.

Experience

• Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination within a supply chain environment.
• Past experience in the food and beverage industry a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast paced working environment.
• Knowledge of freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures and freight documentation requirements.
• Skilled in data entry with high attention to detail using TMS systems.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drivers, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Analysis skills to interpret transportation data for process improvements and operational efficiency. Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
