Compensation:
This position offers a competitive base salary plus a performance-based commission program. Total compensation is commensurate with experience and sales performance. Compensation typically ranges from $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually, commission not capped.

Bernie’s Equipment Co., Inc., a leading provider in the material handling industry, is seeking a Business Development Specialist to serve the Western Minnesota region. Based out of our Holmen, WI location, this role is responsible for generating new business opportunities and expanding aftermarket sales. The Business Development Specialist will identify and cultivate new accounts, support existing customers as needed, and analyze customer applications to identify opportunities for equipment and service solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Proactively call on and visit businesses within the sales territory on a regular basis, including conducting cold calls to generate new leads. Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers.
  • Promote all products and services, including Service, and Rentals. Collaborate with inside sales and support staff to develop accurate quotes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information
  • Stay current on product knowledge and aftermarket offerings from the manufacturers we represent, participating in training sessions and manufacturer schools as available.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues or complaints, ensuring timely and effective solutions that promote customer satisfaction and retention.

Essential Skills and Experience

· Associate degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a comparable environment.

· Or minimum of one year of successful outside or field sales experience.

· Proven ability to develop, strengthen, and maintain long-term customer relationships.

· Demonstrated success in establishing and achieving both short- and long-term professional and personal goals.

· Clearly defined income objectives supported by a results-driven mindset.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

· Strategic planning ability with a focus on long-range business development initiatives.

· Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

· Computer literacy.

· Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred.

· Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
