Fleet-Plummer, a family-owned Greensboro business serving the community since 1949, is seeking an Outdoor Kitchen & Outdoor Living Design Consultant to help customers design and purchase premium outdoor living products.

This is a consultative sales and design role. Many of the customers we work with are making significant investments in their homes—designing outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and outdoor living spaces that become the centerpiece of their backyard.

In this role, you will help guide customers through those decisions while serving as a key product expert for our outdoor living departments.

What You’ll DoOutdoor Kitchen Design & Consultation

• Meet with customers in-store and conduct in-home consultations when needed.
• Measure outdoor spaces and help design functional outdoor kitchen layouts.
• Recommend grills, cabinetry, refrigeration, and accessories that work together as a cohesive design.
• Help customers visualize their outdoor living space and guide them through product selection.

Outdoor Living Sales

• Sell premium outdoor living products including:
• Grills
• Outdoor kitchens
• Fireplaces and gas logs
• Outdoor furniture
• Help customers move from purchasing a single product to creating a complete outdoor living solution.
• Prepare proposals and guide customers through the purchasing process.

Product Expertise & Department Support

• Serve as a product expert for outdoor kitchens and outdoor living products.
• Help maintain strong merchandising and presentation within the outdoor living departments.
• Work closely with management to support the growth and success of these product categories.

Customer Experience

• Provide a high level of personalized service and expert guidance.
• Build lasting relationships with customers making meaningful investments in their homes.
• Ensure a smooth buying experience from the initial consultation through delivery and installation.

What You Bring - Design & Spatial Thinking

• Ability to visualize outdoor kitchen layouts and product combinations
• Comfort measuring spaces and recommending configurations
• An eye for design and aesthetics

Consultative Sales Skills

• Confidence selling premium products
• Ability to guide customers through larger home improvement purchases
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Schedule

• Full-time position (hours of operation are 9:30am - 6:30pm)
• Saturdays required
• Closed Sundays
