Responsibilities

• Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at designated outdoor sites using hand signals, signs, or flagging devices to maintain order and safety
• Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signage, and flagging stations in accordance with safety standards and project requirements
• Communicate clearly with team members, contractors, and the public to provide instructions and updates regarding traffic patterns or detours
• Monitor the work zone continuously for hazards or unsafe behaviors, promptly addressing issues or escalating concerns to supervisors
• Assist in emergency situations by guiding emergency vehicles or providing support until authorities arrive
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, or safety checks to ensure compliance with regulations
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during outdoor operations

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear instructions using hand signals or verbal commands
• Prior experience in traffic control, flagging, or related outdoor roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures and traffic control standards is a plus
• Valid certification as a Traffic Control Flagger (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire) is highly desirable
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
