We are looking for full time professionals with LPC, LMFT, LCSW or Resident Counseling to provide services for persons with mental health issues with a minimum of 2 years post licensed experience. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outpatient Mental Health Therapist to provide comprehensive mental health services within a community-based outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical counseling, with expertise in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral therapies. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives by delivering evidence-based treatments, conducting diagnostic evaluations, and supporting individuals across diverse age groups and backgrounds. The therapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring high-quality patient care while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide crisis management and intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or behavioral crises.
- Implement evidence-based interventions for conditions including PTSD, addiction, grief, chronic pain, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and gender issues counseling.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document patient progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with case management teams to coordinate care plans and facilitate referrals for specialized services such as special education or inpatient treatment when necessary.
- Engage in clinical research activities or data collection efforts to support program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to expand access to mental health services across diverse populations.
Experience
- Proven experience working in outpatient mental health settings with a focus on clinical counseling and patient assessment.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and addiction counseling.
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems within healthcare or mental health environments.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols for diverse client populations.
- Background working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health conditions and familiarity with medical records management systems.
- Experience providing telehealth services using secure digital platforms is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards coupled with excellent patient care skills in outpatient clinics or hospital settings.
