Respiratory Outpatients Nurse – NHS Hospitals

Location: Mid / South Wales (NHS Outpatient Clinics)

SJK Healthcare is urgently recruiting an experienced Respiratory Outpatients Nurse to support specialist respiratory clinics across NHS hospitals. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong respiratory knowledge and experience managing chronic respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting consultant-led respiratory clinics

Conducting respiratory assessments & clinical observations

Managing Patients With Conditions Such As

Asthma

COPD

Bronchiectasis

Interstitial lung disease (ILD)

Post-COVID respiratory complications

Pulmonary fibrosis

Supporting Respiratory Tests Including

Spirometry (if trained)

Peak flow

FeNO testing

Providing inhaler technique training & patient education

Supporting smoking cessation advice

Monitoring oxygen saturation & escalation where required

Coordinating follow-up appointments and telephone/virtual clinics

Accurate documentation in hospital EPR systems

Working collaboratively with Consultants, Respiratory Physiologists, HCAs & AHPs

Requirements

Registered Nurse (NMC PIN required)

Minimum 1 year experience in Respiratory, General Medicine, or Acute Care

Experience with spirometry or inhaler education is beneficial

Strong communication and patient support skills

Confident working independently within busy outpatient settings

Ability to manage complex respiratory patient needs

You must live in the UK and have the right to work in the UK
