GPW Psychiatry is on of the leading behavioral health facility focused on the overall health of our consumers in the greater Raleigh-Durham area. We are a full service mental health practice with several options of treatment including medication management, psychotherapy, TMS, and psychedelic treatment options. GPW has a full team of behavioral health and medical professionals.

We are able to provide medical management of psychiatric conditions, and other therapeutic modalities.

We treat conditions including treatment resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders and psychotic disorders to name a few.

GPW also has a focus on substance abuse rehabilitation services including outpatient detoxification, medication assisted treatment, and rehabilitation through our intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.

We are licensed and CARF Accredited to serve mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis patients.

Education for Psychiatrist:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with specialty training in psychiatry

Experience for Psychiatrist:

  • Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population

Licenses/Certifications for Psychiatrist:

  • Physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the NC, board-certified, or board-eligible in psychiatry

Full Job Description
We are looking for passionate adult and child psychiatrists for both full and part time roles. The ideal candidate will be motivated by joining a quickly growing organization. Most importantly we’re looking to bring someone into our team who is excited about our mission to improve mental health, mind, body and spirit.

  • Use a variety of methods to evaluate a patient, such as interviewing the patient, their family or other persons
  • Develop a treatment plan according to the needs of the patient’s needs and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental or behavioral disorder
  • Treat a patient using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication and adjusting treatment where necessary
  • Consult with the patient’s Primary Care Physician, Nurses or other health care providers
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed
  • Write and maintain patient and clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered
  • Keep up-to-date with professional job knowledge by reading publications, attending educational conferences or maintaining professional networks
  • Follow ethical and legal policies, procedures and standards
