Mission
The Output Editor (OE) is a multi-skilled professional who combines his/ her technical skills (video editing), with journalistic competence (keen news sense, script writing), and tops it off with a total familiarity with IT and multimedia technology. An OE creates videocontent for broadcast, tailored for Arabic-speaking onlineand TV audience and in compliance with corporate standards as defined by Viory Style Guidelines.
Main Tasks

Supervising shift translators and broadcast journalists, delegating appropriate stories, and overseeing the publication of files on the web

Checking all translated and/or produced content before publication, reading all final copies and providing approval for publication

Being responsible for the work quality of content during shift, ensuring content is thoroughly reported, well written/produced and meets all Viory’s standards

Visualizing, finding and assembling production elements (video, sound, graphics, animations) into a ready for broadcast video package
-
Writing attention-grabbing titles and headlines as well as compelling scripts to go with the edited packages
-
Effectively handle real-time news updates and breaking stories, making swift editorial decisions to maintain up-to-date and accurate reporting

Suggest enhancements to improve the visual appeal, multimedia integration, and interactive elements of content
-
Finding and tracking alternative news sources and persistently searching to identify a story ahead of the competition before it becomes a big story

Working according to plan, directing and helping to execute Viory’s news, featuring stories and reports in all formats
-
Manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks to meet the demands of a fast-paced news environment.
Your Skills
-
Degree in journalism, communication, or any other relevant field
-
Excellent news judgement and extensive non-linear video editing experience
-
In-depth knowledge of Middle East and North African Affairs
-
Cultural awareness and familiarity with Middle Eastern and Arabic-speaking regions' social, political, and cultural landscapes
-
Native-level proficiency in Arabic language, with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
-
Fluent English skills are essential, and proficiency in other languages is a valuable asset
-
Ability to write compelling scripts fast and accurately
-
Ability to multitask and manage daily duties under extreme pressure
-
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy
-
Passion for international news matched by a knowledge of world affairs and a focus on MENA affairs
-
Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with multimedia integration
-
Ability to working in a team, learning quickly, and being prepared to respond to news 24/7.
