Outreach and Programming Manager (2+ years outreach experience)

Outreach & Programming Manager

Full-Time Exempt | $55,000–$65,000 | Some evenings & weekends required

Who You Are

You’re the person who walks into a room and naturally starts conversations. You’re confident, approachable, and energized by meeting new people and building meaningful relationships that lead to impactful partnerships. You don’t wait for connections to happen—you create them.

You enjoy being in front of a crowd just as much as working behind the scenes. Whether you’re speaking to a small group or a packed room, you’re comfortable, engaging, and passionate about sharing resources that make a difference. In fact, about half of your time in this role will be spent presenting to audiences of all ages and backgrounds–-- students, educators, parents, business owners, non-profits, researchers, job seekers, retirees, and marginalized, vulnerable and/or high-needs populations----while the remainder focuses on planning, executing, and evaluating impactful programs and outreach initiatives.

You’re also a strong leader and project manager. You can juggle big ideas and day-to-day details, moving multiple projects forward while keeping your team motivated and supported.

What You’ll Do

  • Actively represent the library in the community by initiating and building relationships with local organizations, schools, businesses, and community groups
  • Build partnerships by confidently initiating and growing relationships with local organizations
  • Confidently deliver engaging presentations about library services, programs, and resources
  • Design, implement, and evaluate a wide range of programs aligned with community needs and the library’s strategic goals
  • Lead, coach, and support the Programming and Outreach Team
  • Manage multiple short- and long-term projects simultaneously from idea to completion, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in outreach, community engagement, programming, or a related field
  • Proven success managing projects from concept through execution
  • Experience leading or supervising staff or teams
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating across departments and with community partners

If you’re energized by connecting with people, leading meaningful work, and being a visible presence in the community, this role is for you.
