This role conducts outreach, provides one-on-one enrollment assistance, and works closely with community partners to ensure residents understand and can access available food resources. Outreach & Community Engagement
● Conduct outreach to individuals and families who may be eligible for different programs and SNAP benefits.
● Represent Nourish.NJ at community events, food distributions, shelters, and partner organizations.
● Develop relationships with community partners, social service agencies, and healthcare providers to increase referrals.
Duties may include
● Manage client referrals through the main Outreach phone number, main nourish.NJ number and walk ins
● Complete general intake and assessments with new referrals
● Provide follow up to clients to ensure resolution of crisis situations and address any unresolved problems or questions
● Advocate for client needs and goals with other providers and community partners
● Provide one-on-one assistance completing SNAP applications.
● Educate applicants on eligibility requirements, benefit levels, and reporting responsibilities.
● Assist clients with recertification and benefits renewal. Qualifications
● Experience in community outreach, case management. ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Ability to work with individuals experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, or financial hardship.
● Proficiency with computers and basic data entry.
● Some afternoons and weekends as needed.
● Bilingual (English & Spanish)(REQUIRED)
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
