Outreach Counselor
FLSA STATUS: Exempt / Full-Time
Brief Summary: Utilizes trauma-informed, evidence based clinical intervention to promote healing and safety of clients utilizing different therapeutic approaches.
Direct Report: Senior Manager of Clinical Services
LOCATION: Garland and Plano Outreach offices, and remote. *Ability to travel to all HDNBC locations
SCHEDULE: Flexible scheduling, to include regular business hours, as well as some evenings and weekends as needed.

Major Responsibilities:
Essential Job functions:
Receives and assesses intake calls from all clients to determine immediate safety and crisis needs.
Conducts virtual and in-person intake assessments to establish safety plans, identify case management needs, advocacy needs and readiness for therapeutic services.
Delivers and provides in-person individual and group counseling sessions.
Supports clients by attending court hearings.
Ensures weekly utilization rate is at or above agency standards.
Participates in scheduled individual client staffing meetings, team meetings and multi- disciplinary meetings.
Maintains case files and client notes in a timely manner by entering client treatment plans, case notes, telephone consultations, referrals, and others into agency database.
Conducts on-going communication with the Senior Manager of Clincial Services and advocacy team.
Assists with adult intakes and counseling to ensure all clients are seen in a timely manner.
Research best practices and assist in ensuring that services provided to victims of domestic violence are culturally responsive, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed.
Develop and maintain relationships with community service providers and organizations to facilitate referrals and coordination of services for clients.
Provide consultation for staff and volunteers as needed.
Provide on-call staff back-up on an as-needed basis.
Other:
Maintains current licensure and/or certifications and group affiliations.
Attending agency-related domestic violence and ethics training.
Participates in agency-related speaking engagements and educational opportunities.
Complies with the clinical services program policy and procedures.
Initiate changes in protocol, forms, and reports to better serve the client and agency needs.
Conduct outreach to the community as needed.
Assist in the training and support of clinical interns if applicable.
Participate in agency events.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or another related field.
Maintains unrestricted license to practice in State of Texas: LPC, LPC-A, LCSW, LMSW LMFT, LPT
2 years of practice as a licensed professional as stated above.
Required KnowledgeExperience:
Experience counseling parents/families.
Knowledge and experience working with victims of trauma.
Knowledge of the power and control wheel
Experienced in domestic violence, child abuse, trauma, or related children's issues.
Experience with individual counseling and group counseling.
Ability to supervise interns.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to be on-time and maintain a regular, consistent schedule.
Ability to work independently, set goals and accomplish with a sense of urgency.
Ability to maintain client confidentiality and agency confidentiality.
Ability to work with a diverse client population.
Ability to follow proper safety protocols and agency policies to ensure the safety and well-being of the clients.
Physical Requirements: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs.).
