Outside Sales Representative

COMPENSATION

Competitive base salary plus commission. Base salary starts at $45,000, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) potential ranging from $75,000 – $100,000+ annually, depending on performance. High performers have the opportunity to exceed this range.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating revenue by developing new business and securing orders from new and existing customers within an assigned territory. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering customized labeling and packaging solutions that meet customer production, compliance, and branding needs.

This is a field-based position that requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers, conduct product presentations, and develop new business opportunities. The role manages key customer relationships while actively prospecting for new accounts across multiple industries including food processing, beverage, manufacturing, distribution, and retail packaging.

Working collaboratively with internal teams, the Outside Sales Representative ensures that customer solutions are delivered effectively and align with Bollin Label Systems’ standards for quality products and dependable service.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Identify, prospect, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned sales territory to drive revenue growth.
  • Travel regularly within the assigned territory to meet with customers, conduct sales presentations, and develop new business relationships.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to expand business within assigned accounts.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic and key accounts through regular customer engagement and consultative selling.
  • Conduct in-person customer visits to assess operational needs and recommend customized labeling and packaging solutions.
  • Prepare and present pricing quotes, proposals, and product recommendations that align with customer requirements and company capabilities.
  • Negotiate pricing, service agreements, and project details with prospective and existing customers.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure satisfaction, resolve issues, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including estimating, pricing, marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure solutions meet customer specifications and timelines.
  • Utilize CRM systems and sales reporting tools to manage territory activity, track opportunities, and document customer interactions.
  • Monitor orders, shipments, and project timelines to ensure smooth delivery and a positive customer experience.
  • Represent Bollin Label Systems at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events to promote company capabilities and generate new leads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Required: 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in B2B environment required. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Experience managing key accounts and developing new business within an assigned territory. Valid driver’s license.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred. Experience in printing, labeling, packaging, food & beverage, or manufacturing industry preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong territory management and key account development skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to travel regularly within territory.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate labeling and packaging solutions.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Zoho CRM a plus).
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and sales opportunities while working independently in a field-based role.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

This position requires frequent travel within the assigned territory (about 70% travel), including driving to customer locations and attending meetings or trade shows. Travel may involve overnight trips. The role may require standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting materials up to 50 pounds. The position also requires strong concentration, problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

CONFIDENTIALITY:

This position may have access to confidential company and customer information, including pricing, customer lists, sales strategies, and proprietary product information. The employee is expected to maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information in accordance with company policies.

CHARACTER OF SUPERVISION:

This position works under general supervision and is expected to operate with a high level of independence while managing an assigned territory and meeting established sales goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a hybrid role that includes travel to customer locations, remote work, and occasional time in the office. Work may take place in customer facilities, offices, or trade show environments.

This position regularly interacts with customers, prospective clients, and internal teams including sales, production, and operations to support business development and customer needs.
