Outside Sales Representative – Building Materials

Duties

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to target new business opportunities within your territory, focusing on building materials and related products.
  • Conduct proactive lead generation through cold calling, networking events, and industry contacts to expand the customer base.
  • Present product demonstrations and technical sales consultations to clients, showcasing product features and benefits tailored to their project needs.
  • Manage existing accounts by providing excellent customer service, upselling additional products, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Utilize CRM software such as Salesforce to track sales activities, manage customer information, and analyze sales trends for continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to close deals effectively while maintaining profitability.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop territory-specific campaigns that increase brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Conduct territory management by planning visits efficiently, maintaining a strong presence in the field, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in outside sales or business development within the building materials or construction industry.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to handle multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills essential for building lasting client relationships.
  • Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce or other CRM tools; proficiency in technology sales is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in B2B sales, including cold calling, direct sales, and territory management.
  • Knowledge of retail sales processes and inside sales techniques is advantageous.
  • Analytical skills to assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning for strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to conduct product demos effectively and identify upselling opportunities during client interactions.
