Outside Sales/Truss Layout Designer

Trusswork's is looking for an Outside Sales Representative for NE Wisconsin and Upper Michigan region. As a Outside Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in our design team, contributing to the creation of efficient reliable and structurally sound truss systems. You will be responsible for utilizing industry standard software (ITW Alpine Truss) and design principles to create accurate and detailed truss designs. Also traveling to meet with our current customers and potential new customers and assisting them with truss design.

The job entails use of various computer programs (Apline, Etc.) for designing and pricing of trusses, Telephone skills with the ability to visualize building and truss designs with verbal instruction and ability to read and interpret drawings and/or blueprints of buildings along with other skills and duties. Wages for this position are dependent on Education, Ability or Experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design wood roof and floor truss layouts using Alpine software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions, effectively communicating pricing and design options.
• Collaborate with construction teams on job-sites to ensure seamless integration of designs into ongoing projects and solve architectural and design discrepancies throughout the entire project process.
• Resolve customer complaints and problems
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customer accounts through regular follow-up visits, while also identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including design and production, to ensure seamless execution of projects and delivery of products.

Qualifications

• Proficient in truss design software and drafting techniques, with a strong understanding of schematics.
• Working knowledge of building materials and construction practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients written and verbal
• Background in construction or mechanical design is preferred.
• Ability to create detailed truss layouts and system designs.
• 2 years of sales experience in building materials or related industry preferred.
