Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers across long-distance routes, adhering to all federal and state transportation regulations.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
• Manage a variety of trailer types including refrigerated to accommodate different freight needs.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer to ensure optimal safety and compliance standards are met.
• Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions to maximize productivity.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, and delivery documentation in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, load status, and any issues encountered on the road.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
• Prior delivery driver experience handling freight such as refrigerated goods, dry van
• Familiarity with load & unload procedures
• Knowledge of route planning and navigation for over-the-road driving efficiently

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $0.48 - $0.63 per mile
