Overnight Custodian

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Overnight Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment during nighttime hours. This vital role ensures that our facilities remain pristine and well-maintained, supporting a positive experience for staff and visitors alike. The Overnight Custodian will perform comprehensive cleaning, custodial, and maintenance tasks to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety across our premises.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies.
• Conduct industrial cleaning tasks such as floor buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to ensure surfaces are spotless and well-maintained.
• Maintain janitorial supplies inventory and restock as needed to ensure continuous cleanliness operations.
• Perform routine facilities maintenance including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and ensuring proper functioning of lighting and fixtures.
• Follow safety protocols during all custodial activities to prevent accidents or hazards.
• Document completed tasks, report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
• Support special cleaning projects or deep-cleaning initiatives as scheduled or required.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred.
• Experience with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet extraction is advantageous.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including minor repairs and painting is desirable.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies ensures efficiency in daily tasks.
• Previous porter or facilities support roles demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
