POSITION: Delivery Driver / Packer - WORK SCHEDULE: WEDNESDAYS TO SUNDAYS FROM MIDNIGHT TO 8:30 AM
Requirements:
1) Candidates must be at least 25 years old to meet our insurance eligibility requirements for driving company vehicles.
2) A valid, clean driver’s license with proof of at least 9 years of driving experience in the United States.
3) All candidates must submit their driver’s license when applying for this position, as it will need to be verified before proceeding with the interview process.
MAIN DUTIES: Under general supervision, packages and delivers pastry and bread products to retail and wholesale locations throughout the Bay Area using company vehicles.
Driving Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned van/truck to facilitate delivery of pastries, breads, dry goods, and supplies to retail and wholesale locations throughout the Bay Area.
- Read and follow the production packing sheets carefully. The driver responsible for each route is fully accountable for any mistakes during that route. Whether or not you personally packed the order, you are still responsible for double-checking that all deliveries are complete and accurate, ensuring every retail and wholesale customer receives everything they ordered and paid for.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- May plan a route to ensure the most economical use of time using company GPS systems.
- Adhere to all posted speed limits and traffic signs, lights, etc.
- Help organize and perform a deep cleaning of vans, workspace, and outdoor space on a weekly basis.
- Communicate any issues with the van/truck to the PM Manager/Commissary Manager daily.
- Double checks the baked goods matches invoices before delivering products. Must adjust invoice accurately to reflect actual delivery (ie record breakage, missing items, etc.).
- Must maintain a clean driving record while driving for the company. The employee must report any changes to their driving record to the owners immediately.
- Ensure the product is loaded and securely secured to ensure it arrives at its destination safely and to our standards.
- Assist other drivers with loading and unloading of products.
- Help maintain the vehicle by reporting any maintenance issues, and using the company gas card to keep the vehicle fueled.
Packing & Cleaning Responsibilities
- Read and follow the production packet.
- Make sure the packaging sheet is accurately filled during each shift to record the total number of pieces delivered to retail and wholesale.
- Accurately adjust and communicate supervisor and commissary manager the total invoice/invoice to reflect any missing or broken product.
- Sort and consolidate sheet pans from the bake
- Clean and organize the baking/production area after product packing is complete (sweep, sanitize tables, organize packing bins, speed racks
Communication
- Provides appropriate notice when unable to be at work
- Be reliable and punctual at all times.
- Participate in training activities as required.
- Undertake and follow through on any reasonable task or request made by Management.
- Be courteous and professional with all colleagues.
- Inform Management of all complaints or incidents.
Safety & Sanitation
- Do not text and drive at the same time.
- Correctly arm security systems and lock doors of all delivery spaces.
- Keep the workspace clean and neat at all times.
- Completely clean the work area before leaving.
- Ensure that you keep a high standard of personal hygiene, your clothing is kept clean, and that your hair is pulled back at all times.
- Be fully aware of the commissary's fire and safety regulations and abide by them.

- The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to read order information and communicate orally and in writing.
- Must be able to drive a company van.
Work Environment
Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, flour dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.
Travel
Travel using a company van/truck is expected for this position.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
