Job Summary:

As an Overnight Emergency Communications Dispatcher with LifeCare Ambulance - Memphis/Mississippi, you will play a critical role in our emergency response team, responsible for efficiently dispatching vehicles to emergency and non-emergency requests for service. This fast-paced and dynamic position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities:

• Answer, screen, and direct calls with a pleasant and professional phone manner

• Distinguish the need for emergency or non-emergency transportation and arrange transport requests via the CAD system

• Provide top-tier customer service to our customers and field staff

• Communicate with multiple internal and external departments, including EMS personnel, to ensure seamless coordination

• Maintain written dispatch logs, operate the dispatch program, and ensure HIPAA guidelines are met

• Troubleshoot and communicate effectively to facilitate improved service

• Ensure proper levels of care are met prior to dispatching a unit and determine response priority

Requirements:

• Current or prior EMS dispatch experience

• Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in English

• Type at 30 WPM

• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations

• Pleasant, professional phone manner and customer service skills

• Detail-oriented with strong computer and typing skills

• Ability to excel in high-stress environments and adapt to changing policies

• Medical background a plus; EMD or EMT certification preferred

• Day/Night/Weekend availability as needed or required
