Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Overpayment Recovery Specialist to join our specialized Social Security Disability Advocacy team. This unique position serves as a critical liaison between Social Security Administration, Claimants, and Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance providers, ensuring accurate benefit coordination and appropriate payment reconciliation.
Schedule: M - F: 8am - 4:30pm or 9am - 5:30 pm est or cst

Verify and validate awarded Social Security Disability benefit amounts against LTD benefit payments

Identify overpayment situations where LTD carriers have paid in excess due to retroactive SSDI awards

Calculate precise recovery amounts needed to return to LTD insurance companies

Process and manage high volumes of benefit verification documentation

Maintain meticulous records of all benefit coordination activities

Enter and update data in specialized case management systems with exceptional accuracy

Prepare correspondence for clients, Social Security Administration, and LTD carriers

Support accounting processes related to overpayment recovery and benefit coordination
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in administrative support, preferably in insurance, financial services, or benefits administration

Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to accurately calculate benefit offsets

Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing financial data and benefit statements

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive personal and financial information

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume workloads efficiently

Proficiency with office productivity software and database management systems

Knowledge of Social Security disability and private LTD insurance coordination preferred but not required

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $16.50 - $19.00 hourly, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
