This role blends packaging design, brand execution, licensor collaboration, and hands-on photography within a fast-paced consumer products environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, a solid understanding of retail packaging, and the ability to execute production-ready artwork while maintaining brand integrity, compliance, and creative consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Design & Brand Execution

  • Design retail-ready packaging for licensed and non-licensed products, including boxes, hangtags, inserts, belly bands, labels, and gift packaging
  • Translate Madison Home brand standards and licensor guidelines into compelling, compliant packaging executions
  • Ensure packaging aligns with buyer requirements, retail standards, and overall brand aesthetics
  • Create and maintain dielines and production-ready artwork (AI/PDF) for overseas factories
  • Manage artwork revisions, version control, and approvals through sampling and production

Licensor & Brand Partner Collaboration

  • Work directly with licensors and brand partners to develop approved packaging and hangtags for licensed programs
  • Interpret licensor style guides and feedback while balancing creative intent and production feasibility
  • Coordinate licensor revisions, approvals, and final sign-offs in partnership with internal teams
  • Maintain organized records of licensor-approved assets and final artwork

Photography & Visual Content

  • Capture high-quality product photography for licensed and non-licensed items, including:
  • White-background e-commerce imagery
  • Lifestyle and in-use shots
  • Detail and texture photography
  • Style, photograph, edit, and retouch images for packaging, e-commerce, presentations, and marketing use
  • Maintain a structured digital asset library with consistent naming and version control

Cross-Functional & Overseas Collaboration

  • Partner with design, production, and overseas teams to ensure packaging accuracy prior to mass production
  • Communicate clearly with factories regarding print specs, finishes, materials, and tolerances
  • Support internal reviews, line sheets, and buyer presentations with packaging mockups and photography

Production Accuracy & Process Ownership

  • Prepare and verify print-ready files to ensure accuracy and compliance before sampling and bulk production
  • Review samples and final outputs for quality, consistency, and adherence to approved artwork
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight seasonal deadlines
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflow, organization, and creative execution

Qualifications & Software Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in packaging design, preferably within consumer products, home, gift, or licensed brands
  • Strong understanding of retail packaging, print production, and dieline development
  • Experience working with licensed and non-licensed product lines, including licensor approval processes
  • Hands-on product photography experience, including lighting, styling, and image editing

Software & Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Experience preparing print-ready files (AI/PDF) for overseas production
  • Knowledge of print processes, materials, finishes, and color management
  • Familiarity with digital asset management and version control best practices

Personal Attributes

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong creative eye with the ability to execute within established brand systems
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team player
