Packaging Graphic Designer

Package Design experience is a must

The Position

Ashtel Studios is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Packaging Graphic Designer to design innovative, visually compelling packaging that aligns with our brand identity and enhances customer experience. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, understands printing and production requirements, and can translate brand strategy into effective packaging solutions. As a member of the Design Team, this individual should have a strong understanding of branding, alongside an adaptable mindset.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Design packaging from concept to production, ensuring deliverables are relevant and trend setting
  • Design packaging for products across multiple formats
  • Develop visual concepts, graphics, and layouts for digital assets
  • Create exciting branding and logos for emerging collections
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends and strategies, integrating new resources/techniques where needed
  • Create print ready files for both existing and emerging products according to best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives
  • Proof color and packaging structural integrity and engineering
  • Present design concepts and ideas to internal teams, and incorporate feedback into final designs
  • Ensure that all designs meet the Ashtel standard and align with project briefs and brand guidelines
  • Effectively communicate product strategy and features through package design/copy
  • Coordinate with Creative Director to ensure design accuracy
  • Organize files for projects meticulously for easy retrieval, reference, and sharing
  • Other duties, as assigned

Work Requirements and Skills Needed:

  • Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Packaging Graphic Designer
  • Knowledge of packaging regulations and labeling requirements
  • Package Design experience is a must
  • Advanced knowledge of design software and tools; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), AI (ChatGPT, etc.) Microsoft Office Suite, and other graphic design software
  • Experience with 3D software a plus
  • Knowledge of licensing and branding
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to see the big picture while not losing sight of the details
  • Demonstrated skill in packaging, print and digital design
  • Strong asset management skills
  • Takes direction and constructive critiques well while also having the ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction when needed.
  • High energy and positive attitude

Design Portfolio REQUIRED to be considered.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
