Job Purpose

To supervise mushroom packing, dispatch control, stock reconciliation, rider compliance, packaging inventory, and return/replacement management. The Packing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring mushrooms are packed, stored, and dispatched according to company SOPs while minimizing wastage, stock discrepancies, and operational leakages.

Key Responsibilities

1. Packing Operations & Quality Control

● Supervise daily packing of fresh mushrooms according to company packing standards.

● Ensure correct:

○ Weight specifications

○ Tray/punnet presentation

○ Cling wrapping quality

○ Labeling and dating

○ Product grading standards

● Ensure mushrooms are handled carefully to avoid bruising, moisture damage, or discoloration.

● Ensure all packers follow hygiene and food handling SOPs.

2. Dispatch & Rider Compliance

● Ensure delivery riders follow company dispatch policies at all times.

● Verify that riders:

○ Collect correct stock against invoices/dispatch slips.

○ Carry only approved replacement stock.

○ Return unsold, replaced, or damaged stock at the end of shift.

○ Submit all required delivery documentation.

● Coordinate with the Rider Supervisor to report non-compliance, shortages, or stock discrepancies.

3. Replacement & Return Stock Control

● Ensure all returned and replacement mushrooms are immediately placed in their designated areas.

● Ensure proper segregation of:

○ Saleable returns

○ Replacement stock

○ Unsaleable/wastage stock

● Ensure all return/replacement forms are properly completed and signed by the Rider Supervisor before acceptance.

● Investigate discrepancies in returned quantities.

4. Stock Rotation & Shelf-Life Management

● Ensure strict implementation of FIFO (First In, First Out).

● Identify stock nearing the end of shelf life and coordinate its immediate dispatch to avoid wastage.

● Monitor aging inventory in cold storage and packing areas.

● Report slow-moving stock to management.

5. Weekly Stock Reconciliation

● Conduct weekly physical stock reconciliation of:

○ Packed mushrooms

○ Replacement stock

○ Returned stock

○ Packaging materials

● Investigate and report stock variances immediately.

● Maintain accurate reconciliation records for management review.

6. Packaging Material & Equipment Control

Maintain stock and accountability of:

● Packing baskets

● Harvest baskets

● Knives

● Weighing scales

● Cling film

● Labels

● PET trays/punnets

● Tape and cartons

Responsibilities include:

● Conduct regular physical counts.

● Identify losses, misuse, or damage.

● Maintain minimum stock levels.

● Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.

7. Cross-Department Coordination

● Coordinate with:

○ Production team for harvest inflow

○ Sales team for dispatch priorities

○ Rider Supervisor for delivery compliance

○ Procurement team for packaging material replenishment

○ Accounts/admin for stock documentation if required

Preferred Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Operations, Supply Chain, Agriculture, or related field.

● 3–5 years of experience in packing, warehouse, dispatch, or fresh produce operations.

Pay: Rs80,000.00 - Rs95,000.00 per month
