PACS Administrator/IT

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a skilled and detail oriented PACS Administrator to join our team.

Position Summary:

The PACS Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and related imaging systems. This individual serves as a key liaison between radiologists, technologists, IT, and outside vendors to ensure optimal system performance and availability for clinical and diagnostic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain PACS, RIS, dictation/transcription systems, and associated imaging infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system troubleshooting, user support, and vendor communication on-site.
  • Monitor PACS performance, system backups, and storage capacity; perform routine maintenance and upgrades.
  • Coordinate and support imaging data migration, archiving, and retrieval across multiple modalities and sites.
  • Ensure data integrity, patient confidentiality, and system security in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Train new staff and provide ongoing support to technologists, radiologists, and administrative users.
  • PC/workstation builds and deployment.
  • Setting up new users for all systems and software applications, as well as deprovisioning users on the same systems and software applications.
  • Collaborate with IT and imaging departments on integration projects, including EMR interfaces and modality configurations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, workflows, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in quality assurance, process improvement, and downtime preparedness initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
  • Experience in PACS administration in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Experience with PACS, DICOM, HL7, and image modality workflows.
  • Experience with PC, Network and Microsoft Technology, Experience with healthcare applications preferred, Knowledge of PC Hardware/Software engineering, Knowledge in software and image creation/deployment.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to commute within Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley areas.

Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIIP, CompTIA, Cisco, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
  • Experience working in a multi-site imaging environment or radiology group practice.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
