PPC Lead

About Patch

Patch is a fast-growing digital marketing agency specializing in helping cash-based physical therapy clinics grow using Google Ads, email marketing, SEO, and CRM systems. We manage dozens of local service Google Ads accounts and pride ourselves on high-performance search campaigns, elite backend systems, and world-class client communication.

We’re expanding our paid search team and looking for a PPC Lead — a US-based, mid-level Google Ads specialist who can sit between our Senior Ads Manager and our PPC Specialists (VAs). Your job is to ensure consistent performance, catch issues before they become problems, and remove the CEO completely from the delivery workflow.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The PPC Lead is responsible for:

  • Daily/weekly optimization
  • Red flag audits
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Managing PPC specialists
  • Ensuring all accounts meet Patch’s performance standards
  • Supporting the Senior Ads Manager with high-level data and insight
  • Acting as the PPC team's first-line problem solver

This is a highly impactful role. You are the “glue” that keeps our PPC department running smoothly.

You do not communicate directly with clients — that’s handled by our MAMs.
You do not own long-term strategy — that’s owned by our Senior Ads Manager.

You ensure flawless execution, fast issue resolution, and consistency across accounts.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Weekly Optimization & Performance Management

  • Review all accounts for pacing, wasted spend, and lead flow
  • Conduct weekly red flag audits
  • Identify underperforming keywords and ad groups
  • Ensure proper negative keyword management
  • Evaluate search term reports for intent & quality
  • Adjust budgets and bids based on performance

2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Fix conversion tracking and call tracking issues
  • Resolve account access problems (Google Ads, GTM, HubSpot, GHL)
  • Ensure conversion actions are firing correctly
  • QA new campaign builds before launch
  • Spot and correct structural issues in accounts

3. Manage & Support PPC VAs

  • Assign weekly tasks
  • QA their completed work
  • Provide feedback and training
  • Improve and maintain PPC SOPs
  • Ensure consistency in builds, optimizations, and reporting

4. Quality Assurance & Reporting Support

  • Prepare internal summaries for MAMs
  • Highlight insights and opportunities
  • Flag accounts needing strategy changes
  • Maintain the “Red Flag Tracker”
  • Ensure no client account slips into underperformance unknowingly

5. Work With Senior Ads Manager

  • Escalate complex issues
  • Collaborate on strategic testing
  • Provide insights from the ground
  • Support new system rollouts
  • Help maintain standardization across accounts

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2–5 years of Google Ads experience (local service preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Broad Match, Max Conversions bidding, and modern Google Ads automation
  • Experience optimizing small budgets ($500–$2,000/mo)
  • Strong search intent and keyword evaluation skills
  • Comfortable managing and QA’ing offshore PPC specialists
  • Ability to troubleshoot tracking (GTM, GAds conversions, HubSpot/GHL)
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to spot issues early
  • Excellent written communication
  • Loves systems, process, and predictable execution

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within 90 days:

  • No PPC issues are ever escalated to the CEO
  • Senior Ads Manager is fully leveraged, not overwhelmed
  • PPC VAs follow clean SOPs and deliver consistent quality
  • Red Flag audits catch problems before clients ever see them
  • Client-facing MAMs have clean, clear updates every month

Please note: In order to be considered for this position you must email ally@thepatchsystem.com with your resume & why you are interested in this role & company.
