Job Overview

Goodies Dispensary is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Content Creator & Creative Lead to develop engaging, organic content that reflects our brand and connects with our community.

This role is responsible for content planning, creative direction, and content creation. Our internal marketing team manages posting, account communications, scheduling, and SEO. The ideal candidate understands how to create content that performs while operating within a regulated marketing environment.

Knowledge of cannabis marketing compliance and advertising regulations is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop content ideas, themes, and creative direction aligned with brand initiatives
• Plan structured content calendars in collaboration with leadership and marketing
• Create short-form video and photo content for Instagram and TikTok
• Capture in-store content featuring staff, products, and customer experience
• Lead content ideation and creative planning discussions
• Deliver edited content ready for posting by internal marketing team
• Adjust creative approach based on performance feedback and engagement trends
• Ensure all content complies with Illinois cannabis advertising and marketing regulations

What This Role Does NOT Include

(Managed internally by Goodies)

• Social media posting or scheduling
• Account management or customer communication
• SEO or paid advertising management

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience creating social media content for brands or businesses
• Portfolio demonstrating successful engagement and content performance
• Strong understanding of cannabis marketing compliance and regulated advertising environments
• Experience filming and editing short-form video content
• Strong understanding of Instagram Reels and TikTok trends
• Ability to independently plan and execute creative concepts
• Comfortable collaborating in a retail environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with cannabis brands or dispensaries
• Familiarity with Illinois cannabis regulations
• Creative strategy or content planning experience
