We specialize in commercial and residential concrete work, delivering high-quality projects for a wide range of clients. We are looking for a creative and driven Part-Time Social Media Specialist to help us build our online presence, showcase our work, and attract new talent and customers.
Position Summary
The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing and growing social media accounts for both The VMI Group and Gioia Concrete Construction. This role involves creating compelling content that highlights our projects, company culture, and team, while driving engagement and brand awareness across all platforms. The ideal candidate has a passion for visual storytelling and an understanding of the construction industry or willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies for both companies across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content including project photos, videos, reels, stories, and written posts
- Visit active job sites to capture high-quality photos and video content of projects in progress and completed work
- Manage and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent posting across all platforms
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely and professional manner
- Track social media analytics and provide monthly reports on engagement, follower growth, and content performance
- Develop recruitment-focused content to attract skilled tradespeople and showcase company culture
- Research industry trends and competitor activity to identify new content opportunities
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to identify compelling stories and project milestones worth featuring
- Manage and organize a digital photo/video library of project assets
- Assist with other marketing and branding efforts as needed, including website updates and promotional materials
QualificationsRequired
- Strong photography and videography skills, including editing (smartphone and/or professional camera)
- Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, or similar)
- Experience with photo/video editing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar)
- Excellent written communication skills with an eye for compelling copy
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to visit job sites as needed
- Must be comfortable visiting active construction sites (PPE will be provided)
Preferred
- Experience in the construction, trades, or related industry
- Knowledge of SEO basics and how social media supports broader marketing goals
- Experience with paid social media advertising and boosted posts
- Familiarity with Google Business Profile management
- Portfolio of previous social media work or content creation
Compensation & Schedule
- Part-time position: approximately 1–20 hours per week
- Flexible schedule with a mix of remote work and on-site visits
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
- Mileage reimbursement for job site visits
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time role as the companies expand their marketing efforts
Job Types: Part-time, Internship
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
