Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Physician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of pain management techniques and therapies, with a strong focus on patient-centered care. This role involves diagnosing and treating patients suffering from acute and chronic pain, utilizing a variety of interventional and non-interventional methods. The Pain Management Physician will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans that enhance the quality of life for patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of pain issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
- Perform interventional procedures such as injections, nerve blocks, and other minimally invasive techniques.
- Utilize medical imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapists, psychologists, and primary care providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients about pain management strategies, including health coaching and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in clinical research to advance the field of pain management.
- Stay current with advancements in pain medicine, including emerging therapies and technologies.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Pain Medicine or relevant specialty.
- Experience in acute pain management, chronic pain conditions, and interventional procedures.
- Proficiency in EHR systems, particularly Epic, for effective patient documentation.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques relevant to pain management diagnostics.
- Knowledge of various specialties such as psychiatry, endocrinology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and others as they relate to comprehensive patient care.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, triage, and discharge planning.
- Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and education.
