Pain Management Physician (MD) - Remote

Job Overview

We are seeking a licensed Medical Doctor (MD) specializing in Pain Management to serve as a Consulting Pain Management Physician / Medical Director for a multidisciplinary alternative pain relief clinic. This role is primarily consultative and focuses on conducting medical evaluations, reviewing diagnostic imaging, clearing patients for treatment, and supporting personal injury (PI) cases.

The physician will perform 30-minute medical consultations (primarily via telehealth/Zoom) to assess patient eligibility for non-invasive treatments such as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), physiotherapy, and chiropractic care.

This role is ideal for a physician seeking flexible, remote clinical work while maintaining a high standard of medical professionalism and contributing to patient recovery and legal case support.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive medical consultations via telehealth to evaluate patients presenting with acute and chronic pain, primarily related to motor vehicle accidents and personal injury cases.
• Determine medical necessity and provide clearance for conservative and alternative pain management treatments, including Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), physiotherapy, and chiropractic care.
• Document medical recommendations and treatment approvals that align with patient safety and evidence-based practice.
• Accurately document all consultations, findings, and determinations in the patient’s medical record, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and legal standards.
• Collaborate with clinic management and care teams to ensure continuity of care and consistent application of clinical protocols.
• Maintain availability for scheduled consultations and timely communication regarding patient evaluations.

Skills

• Active MD license in good standing.
• Expertise in pain management, musculoskeletal injuries, and trauma-related conditions.
• Excellent medical documentation skills with attention to detail and legal accuracy.
• Ability to make sound clinical judgments independently while adhering to clinic protocols.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certification or experience in Pain Management.
• Familiarity with conservative, non-invasive pain management modalities.
• Comfort providing structured, time efficient medical consultations (e.g., 30-minute evaluations).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $350.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 6 per week
