Purpose of the Paint Shop Assistant

The role of the Paint Shop Assistant is to actively operate the shop processes as outlined by the Paint Shop Manager. This role is designed to help facilitate and support the needs of the Paint Shop Manager. As well to actively learn about the products we use and general skills of a painter in both a shop and on-site setting.


We are looking for someone who

  • Takes pride in their work.
  • Ability to function in a high stress environment that can change daily.
  • Reports to work on time; Adheres to on-call rotation schedule and be available for weather related events.

Key responsibilities & duties

  • Able to maintain and organize information within a process and/or system and be accountable for necessary documentation.
  • Able to perform shop related painting as outlined by the Paint Shop Manager.
  • Able and willing to learn and grow as a professional painter.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of both the Paint shop and John Grace’s equipment.
  • Work with the Materials Manager on the day-to-day shop activities and workflow.
  • Assist the Materials Manager with activities that pertain to the shop upon request.

Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is a very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Candidate for employment must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check to perform work on insurance related claims.
  • Basic knowledge of smartphone/email technology.
