Painter

The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to buildings, rooms, equipment, and structures to maintain and enhance their appearance in accordance with company standards and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling cracks or holes
• Apply paint, primers, sealers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Mix paints and materials to achieve required colors and textures
• Protect surrounding areas with coverings and masking materials
• Inspect painted surfaces and touch up as required
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in good condition
• Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Coordinate with supervisors and other maintenance staff
• Report material requirements and maintenance issues

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience as a Painter or similar role
• Knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Physically fit and able to work at heights if required
• Attention to detail and quality workmanship

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor work areas
• May involve working at heights and exposure to paint fumes
• Shift duty and weekend work may be required
