Job Description – Painter (Camp Facilities)

Position: Painter
Department: Maintenance / Facilities Management
Location: Remote Site Camp, Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Camp Manager

Job Purpose

The Painter is responsible for carrying out painting, surface preparation, finishing, and minor maintenance works across company-managed accommodation camps, offices, dining facilities, kitchens, recreational areas, and other site buildings. The role ensures that facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and presentable condition while supporting the overall upkeep of camp infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:-

Painting & Surface Preparation

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, filling cracks, and removing old paint or coatings.
• Apply paint, varnish, enamel, primers, sealants, and protective coatings to walls, ceilings, doors, windows, metal structures, and other surfaces.
• Perform interior and exterior painting works in accommodation camps and operational facilities.
• Ensure proper color matching and finishing according to company standards.

Maintenance & Repair

• Carry out minor repairs to walls, ceilings, plaster, drywall, and painted surfaces before painting.
• Repair damaged paintwork caused by wear and tear, moisture, corrosion, or other factors.
• Assist with touch-up painting and refurbishment projects to maintain facility appearance.

Equipment & Material Handling

• Safely operate painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, ladders, scaffolding, and power tools.
• Monitor paint and material consumption and report stock requirements to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of paints, chemicals, and maintenance materials.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow company health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing duties.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area to prevent accidents and hazards.
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of paint, solvents, and other chemicals in accordance with company procedures.

Documentation & Reporting

• Report maintenance requirements and facility defects to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain records of completed painting and maintenance activities as required.
• Assist in identifying areas requiring preventive maintenance and refurbishment.

General Duties

• Support other maintenance activities when required.
• Coordinate with camp management and facility users to minimize disruption during maintenance work.
• Participate in emergency maintenance tasks as directed by management.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping throughout the site.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• Vocational training or certification in painting and decorating is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Painter in camps, facilities management, hospitality, construction, industrial sites, or similar environments.
• Experience in accommodation camps or remote site operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of different painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods.

Pay: AED1,200.00 - AED1,500.00 per month
