Responsibilities
- Assist lead painters with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Handle hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, and putty knives with precision and care
- Support the application of paint using airless spray equipment and power tools for efficient coverage
- Prepare work areas by masking, caulking gaps, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely
- Help with the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, and minor repairs during renovation projects
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris, and adhering to safety protocols
Skills
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading to support project planning
- Familiarity with color theory to assist in selecting appropriate paint types and finishes
- Experience with residential and commercial painting projects on construction sites
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and airless paint spraying equipment
- Understanding of plastering, stucco application, caulking, and masonry techniques for surface finishing
- Knowledge of renovation processes including restoration work and fixture installation
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimates
- Experience with carpentry including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, drywall installation, and remodeling tasks
- Exposure to industrial painting environments or maintenance work is a plus
- Skills in welding or concrete finishing are beneficial but not required
