Painter with Landscape Experience

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter with landscape experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in residential and commercial painting as well as experience working in outdoor environments, particularly those involving landscaping features such as fences, retaining walls, gazebos, garden structures, and outdoor furniture. This role requires both aesthetic attention and practical knowledge of weather-resistant paints and finishes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (formal vocational training or apprenticeship in painting is an asset).
• Certification in painting, decorating, or related trade (if required by local regulations).
• Valid driver’s license (for mobility to various sites, especially outdoor projects).
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards (e.g., OSHA, WHS, or equivalent).
• Proficient in surface preparation (sanding, priming, sealing, and undercoating).
• Skilled in applying paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and protective coatings on different surfaces (wood, metal, concrete, exterior structures).
• Ability to mix and match paints to achieve required colors and finishes.
• Knowledge of different painting techniques (brush, roller, spray, texture).
• Experience with exterior painting (walls, fences, gates, outdoor furniture, and landscape features).
• Competent in using ladders, scaffolding, and spray-paint equipment safely.
• Painting and maintaining outdoor landscape elements (benches, pergolas, gazebos, fences, and decking).
• Weatherproofing and applying protective coatings to withstand outdoor conditions.
• Knowledge of paints and finishes suitable for outdoor/landscape environments.
• Ability to work with landscaping teams to enhance the visual aesthetics of outdoor spaces.
• Understanding of environmental considerations (eco-friendly paints, safe disposal of materials).
• Good eye for detail, color, and aesthetics.
• Physical stamina to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams or independently.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, repairs, and outdoor maintenance (advantage).
