We're expanding our services to include palliative care. We're looking to do a physician & NP based program. We're looking for a lead physician. This requires oversight, as well as some patient visits. Must be located in the greater Pittsburgh region. This position has lots of flexibility as far as hours, coverage area, and growth opportunities.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine symptom burden, psychosocial needs, and care goals.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that align with patients’ values, preferences, and clinical conditions.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, spiritual care, and specialty physicians to coordinate holistic treatment approaches.
- Manage complex symptom control such as pain, dyspnea, nausea, and psychological distress using pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Educate patients and families about prognosis, treatment options, advance directives, and end-of-life care planning.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Strong knowledge of pain management techniques, symptom control strategies, and end-of-life care principles.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams empathetically and effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining a positive attitude toward patient-centered care.
Pay: $100.00 - $200.00 per hour
