Palliative Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Palliative Medicine Specialist/Consultant to provide comprehensive care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. The role focuses on improving quality of life through symptom control, psychosocial support, and coordination of multidisciplinary care for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and manage pain and complex symptoms (physical, psychological, and spiritual)
• Develop individualized palliative care plans aligned with patient goals and values
• Provide end-of-life care and advance care planning discussions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncology, nursing, social work, and allied health
• Support patients and families with emotional, ethical, and decision-making needs
• Offer inpatient, outpatient, and home-based palliative consultations as required
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and care coordination
• Participate in family meetings and ethical case discussions
• Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff on palliative care principles
• Comply with hospital policies, clinical governance, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
• Specialization in Palliative Medicine
• Board certification or equivalent (preferred)
• Minimum 2–5 years of post-specialization experience
• Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
• Experience working in multidisciplinary care teams
• Knowledge of pain management protocols and end-of-life ethics.
