Pacific Estate Planning is looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing paralegal. Drafting accurate legal forms is important for all law firm positions, but this position is particularly looking for someone who enjoys regular client interaction and advocating on their behalf.

Prior Trust/Estates law experience is appreciated, but not required.

We are a law firm focused on estate planning. We also do probate, trust administration, debt collection defense, and business law. This is a primarily transactional (non-litigation) firm. We have a supportive environment and mentor our staff to reach their full potential. We are focused on client results and promote a cooperative work environment.

All applicants must have professional experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.

A four year college degree is required. A paralegal certificate is also required. Please provide paralegal certificate along with resume.

Your work week would be Tuesday - Saturday with Sundays and Mondays off.

Job Duties

Your duties would include, but not be limited to:

  • Meeting with clients to learn about their family, finances, and wishes to gather the required information for their estate plan;
  • Drafting Estate Planning documents, including Wills, Trusts, Deeds, and Powers of Attorney;
  • Drafting a variety of trust or estate administration documents;
  • Assist clients by answering their questions regarding trust funding;
  • Meeting with clients to gather information regarding their assets, liabilities, loans, monthly income, and monthly expenses;
  • Engage in conference calls with clients and their creditors, and negotiate with their creditors on their behalf - independently at first, and then under attorney supervision when appropriate;
  • Assist clients by answering their questions regarding their retirement accounts and calling their retirement companies with them to gain further answers to their questions;
  • Printing and Scanning of Legal Documents;
  • Reviewing legal documents and correcting typographical errors;
  • Writing engagement letters and providing clients with signed agreements;
  • Drafting and submitting bills to clients (not collections);
  • Attending networking events and tradeshows with our attorney; and
  • Various legal research and administrative tasks.
