Family Law Paralegal – Houston, TX

Overview

Our Houston family law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our dedicated legal team. This is a full-time, paid position for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping clients navigate sensitive family law matters.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in family law, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting attorneys in all aspects of case management.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prepare legal documents including petitions, discovery responses, motions, and orders.
• Manage case files, track deadlines, and organize discovery and trial exhibits.
• Assist attorneys in case development and trial preparation.
• Coordinate hearings, mediations, and client meetings.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with firm and court procedures.
• Prepare trial notebooks and assist attorneys during hearings and trials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Family Law (required).
• Strong understanding of local court rules.
• Proficiency with legal software and electronic filing systems (e.g., MyCase, or similar).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Professional demeanor and compassionate client interaction skills.
