Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support our legal and operations teams. This role focuses on reviewing commission agreements and commercial leases, comparing lease terms to commission structures, and determining when commissions are earned and billable. The ideal candidate is highly organized, precise, and comfortable working with contracts that directly impact revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and interpret commission agreements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Interpret commercial lease agreements, including rent schedules, renewal terms, tenant obligations, and payment triggers.
  • Compare lease terms to commission agreements to confirm alignment and identify discrepancies.
  • Determine when commissions are earned, payable, and billable based on contractual milestones.
  • Track key dates, triggers, and conditions related to commissions and leases.
  • Identify inconsistencies, risks, or missing documentation for review by legal or management.
  • Prepare billing support documentation for commissions.
  • Maintain organized contract files and tracking systems.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, finance, operations) to clarify contract terms.
  • Support outside counsel or internal legal staff as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting contracts, preferably commission agreements and/or commercial leases.
  • Strong understanding of contract interpretation, legal terminology, and document structure.
  • Demonstrated experience working with documents that directly impact company revenue.
  • Proven ability to compare multiple documents, identify discrepancies, and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Document Management Systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with legal and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting real estate leases and/or brokerage commission structures.
  • Familiarity with commission tracking, revenue recognition, or related financial processes.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or high-growth environment.
Work Schedule: Corporate Office, Monday through Thursday.
