Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support multiple attorneys and handle nonprofit compliance filings, including annual entity reports and charitable solicitation registrations and renewals. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys deadline-driven work, regulatory compliance, and supporting multiple attorneys in a hybrid working environment.
Responsibilities
- Support multiple attorneys with day-to-day tasks related to the firm’s nonprofit, tax-exempt clients.
- Prepare and file annual reports for nonprofit entities with Secretaries of State.
- Complete charitable solicitation registrations and renewals in multiple states.
- Track and calendar filing deadlines to ensure ongoing compliance and good standing.
- Maintain organized compliance records, confirmations, and supporting documents.
- Communicate with state agencies regarding filings, deficiencies, or corrections.
- Collect, review, and organize required information from clients and internal sources.
- Maintain checklists and internal compliance procedures.
- Update attorneys and matter status in the firm’s matter management software.
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in corporate, nonprofit, or regulatory compliance environments.
- Knowledge of Secretary of State filings, entity maintenance, and charitable solicitation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, calendaring, and time management skills.
- Ability to support multiple attorneys and manage competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with nonprofit entities.
- Experience handling multi-state charitable solicitation registration.
- Law firm, nonprofit, or compliance services background.
- Experience with compliance tracking or entity management systems.
- Experience with matter management software.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
