Paralegal – Estate Planning & Elder Law

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our boutique estate planning and elder law firm, recognized as the Best of Hancock County in 2025. This is a key role within our practice, offering the opportunity to work closely with the attorney and senior paralegal while making a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients and their families.
In this position, you will be involved in all aspects of the client journey, from initial information gathering to drafting documents and guiding clients through the signing process. If you enjoy both the technical precision of legal drafting and the human side of client interaction, this role offers a unique and rewarding balance.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and deeds, as well as business formation documents
- Assist with deed preparation and e-recording
- Work directly with clients to gather information, explain next steps, and guide them through the planning and signing process
- Review and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
- Manage and maintain organized case files using systems such as MyCase and Microsoft Word
- Coordinate schedules, client meetings, and document signings to ensure a smooth workflow
- Provide administrative and operational support, including file management and client communications
- Handle phone and email inquiries with professionalism and a client-first approach
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in estate planning, elder law, or a related legal field preferred
- Strong legal drafting and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and legal practice management software (e.g., MyCase)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-centered mindset
- Clear, professional communication skills and confident phone presence

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
